Still not talking much
I'm still not talking much. I have mastered "uh-oh" whenever I (or Mummy or Daddy) drop things. I'm also quite good with "allo" down the telephone (regardless, of course, if there's anyone there).
As to what my first words were, that's not entirely clear. When we went to Scotland last September, Daddy could have sworn I said "shuz" when I pointed at my shoes on a table. And before that, I once said "uhm-ma" when Grandma was around. And a long, long time before that, I mimicked both Mummy and Daddy saying 'hello', as early as just over one month old.
Anyway, I'm starting to learn more signals which is proving handy and negating the need to speak. For some time now, I've been able to shake my head (pretty much ever since Daddy carved the pumpkin at Halloween). I can use my head-shaking skills to tell Mummy that I don't want any more broccoli, or to tell Daddy that I don't want to go to bed, so that's very handy. However, it's not been until the last couple of days that I've really starting to learn to nod. This should be very useful as shaking my head at being offered chocolate was causing a certain amount of unintended confusion.
